Itinerary: Thailand – Laos – Houayxay – Oudomxay – Dien Bien Phu – Lai Chau – Sapa – Hekou China – Kunming – Lijiang – Dali – Jing Hong – Luang Prabang
After breakfast, driving along the R3A Road to Luang namtha and continue to drive along the 13th North Road to Oudomxay. En route we stop to visit Khmu, Lantan, Black Thai, White Thai, Hmong and Phouxang ethnic minority villages. Arrive in Oudomxay late afternoon
Overnight at Singthong hotel or similar
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Dien Bien Phu (Vietnam) through Muang Khwa Phongsaly province.
We crossing Nam Ou river by ferry, then drive 80km on bad road to the border Sob Houne (Laos side) and Tay Trang (Vietnam side) from border you will drive 40km to Dien Bien Phu through beautiful scenery of mountain, rice field and Dien Bien town valley.
The fast growing town of Dien Bien was one the site of the decisive battle in Vietnam’s struggle for independence in 1954. Today we drive around to see this town and make stop to visit Dien Bien Phu museum which details the event in place. We follow it with a visit to the strategic hill A1 and the old battle field where the lush vegetation grows behind many war relics including old French Tanks and artillery pieces. The next stop is the Dien Bien population victory monument which provides a fantastic view over the Muong Thanh valley.

Heading of Dien Bien Phu town we spend ful day driving through the Vietnamâ€™s most mountainous region to Tam Duong, the town center of Lai Chau province. The roads are difficult at times, but the spectacular landscapes with a mixture of terraced fields and colorful local population makes the hardship of all worthwhile.
After have lunch at Lai Chau, we continue driving along a zigzag route to SA PA. The road condition is very poor in some places but it is still a wonderful trip for photograph hunters as we pass through the various scenic waterfalls, charming villages and rolling mountains. The hill station of SA PA was founded in early last century and rapidly became an ideal place for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape from the unbearable heat in plains. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, it has some warm days and cool in evenings. On arrival in Sa Pa we can soak up the fresh climate as much as you want by wandering around and catching the first look of Sa Pa. the ethnic minority people are frequently seen in this hill town and small vendors along the street sell local textiles and handicraft. We spend this afternoon walking to the Lao Chai village, home of the Black H’Mong people. The footpath traverses terraced rice fields, giving us a chance to see many mountaineers doing their daily works such as logging, herding buffalo and tilling the field. The blend of verdant mountain backdrop and colorful population makes for some fantastic views. Return to hotel
Overnight: at Royal SaPa hotel** or similar
The mountain range of Phan Si Pan boasts Vietnam’s highest peak and lends an alpine feel to the area surrounding this hill station. Today we visit the bustling Sa Pa Market where the Red Dao, Black H’Mong, Tay and Xa Pho ethnic minorities converge from the nearby mountainsides and valleys to trade their goods and buy provisions. We also have time seeing the Ham Rong Mount to catch a view of the mountain scenery. Upon leaving Sa Pa we start our drive to Lao Cai Town and enter China at Hekou border

Breakfast at hotel. Takes a long drive to Kunming through beautiful subtropical landscape with great views of deep ravines, banana and pineapple groves, and terraced rice paddies
Overnight: Stone Forest Kunming hotel** or similar
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to visit stone forest; visit a Golden Temple, a unique Taoist temple. Discover one of China’s most remarkable phenomena. The stone forest consists of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 200 million years ago. Return and check in to another three stars hotel in the center Kunming city.
Overnight: at Three stars hotel***
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to western hills followed by a 10 minutes chairlift ride
Up the hill. From the top you will enjoy a beautiful view of Kunming city and its’ surrounding before taking a path down to the famous Dragon Gate. On the way you will also have the opportunity to visit the Haunting temple, the largest Buddhist complex in Kunming. Afternoon, discover the Bamboo temple with its’ famous finely crafted 500 Luohan statues. Take a stroll in the Flower and Bird market. Return to hotel, dinner

Drive from Kunming for Lijiang the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain; mount Satseto, 15km north of Lijiang and known to local as Jadee Dragon Snow Mountain, is the highest among the Himalayan peaks, rising 5,600 meters above the plains. Visit Tiger Leaping George; one of the deepest chasms in the world, the Yanze River flows 16km between the 3,900 meters tall mountains. Tiger Leaping George can be reached on a two or three days trek.

Morning drive from Lijiang to Dali. In the entire kingdom the Dali flourished for three centuries from 937AD until it fell to the Hordes of Kublai Khan in 1253. the powerful Nazhou kingdom that had conquered much of Murma, Laos and Thailand, as well as attacking Sichuan in Southern China, preceded it for two centuries. Visit the Lake Erhai, 40km long and 10km wide, is the best known for it trained fishing cormorants. Rings fixed around the Bird’s necks prevent them from swallowing their catch. Visit three Pagodas, among the oldest architectural structures in SW China. The tallest was built in the 9th century and is some 70 meters in height-while the others are about 42 meters each. The nearby temple reflects typical traditional Yunnanese architecture. Visit Dali museum, contains archeological exhibits relating to the history of the Dai and Bai people.

Drive from Jing Hong to visit elephant tree, visit Tai Lue village at Muang Han, visit Tropical Trees garden at Meng Loun, proceeding to Meng La â€“ Boten (China – Laos border) re-enter to Laos and continue driving from Boten to Luang Prabang through Oudomxay. Dinner and overnight

Breakfast at hotel. Visit to main temples. One of the most outstanding is Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visunnarat, Wat Mai Suvannaphoumaram, visit national museum (the former King’s Palace)visit Phousi hill and overlooking the sunset on Mekong, return to hotel, dinner
